Are your receptacles empty?

Paulo Freire is known worldwide as a driving force and major supporter of the critical pedagogy movement. The main message from Freire’s body of work is that of creating a society more just and equitable for all members.

Freire summarizes the education system to be a banking system in that students come into the classroom as blank slates, and it is the responsibility for teachers to fill students up with knowledge.
